After Pete teaches Jack to snowboard, they become partners in a snowboarding race, forging an unlikely team of human and ape. Jack the chimpanzee has given up hockey and skateboarding in favor of life with his family at the El Simian Nature Reserve. But a Mexican vacation gone awry lands Jack in Colorado, where he meets a lonely boy named Pete.
