American actress Dolores Costello was born on 17 September 1903 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As the daughter of actors Maurice and Mae Costello, Dolores began performing at a young age. Her first film appearances began as a child alongside her sister, Helene.
Dolores Costello was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of actors Maurice Costello and Mae Costello (née Altschuk). She was of Irish and German descent. She had a younger sister, Helene, and the two made their first film appearances in the years 1909–1915 as child actresses for the Vitagraph Film Company.
