- Spend an afternoon at Walnut Creek Linear Park. Walnut Creek Trail is 4 miles (2.8 miles) out and back trail located near Grand Prairie Texas. Park was opened in January 2007 and it consists of 3.5-meter (12-foot) wide concrete trail that extends from Town Park to James McKnight Park East along the Walnut Creek.

Primarily of Scotch-Irish origins, these pioneer farmers came for the most part, from southern states, following the frontier as it shifted west of the Mississippi.
