Marc Bolan (/ ˈ b oʊ l ə n / BOH-lən; born Mark Feld; 30 September 1947 – 16 September 1977) was an English musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and poet.He is known as one of the pioneers of the glam rock movement of the early 1970s with his band T. Rex.
Marc Bolan passed away on September 16, 1977, only two weeks away from what would have been his 30th birthday on September 30. He was cremated after death and his ashes were interred at Golders Green Crematorium in North London, England. His song "Jeepster" was covered by former Marillion singer Fish on his album "Songs from the Mirror" (1993).
