Marian "Mady" Collier (née Marian Huxley; 1859–1887) also spelled as Marion Huxley, was a British 19th-century painter and is associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Biography. Marian Huxley was born in 1859 in London, to father Thomas Henry Huxley and mother Henrietta Anne Heathorn.
Marian, born in 1859, was the third child of eight. Her paintings are in the Pre-Raphaelite manner, and she exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Suffolk Street Gallery and the Grosvenor Gallery between 1880 and 1884. During her lifetime she acquired some fame as a figure painter.
