Mark Fuhrman (born February 5, 1952) is a former detective of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). He is primarily known for his part in the investigation of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in the O. J. Simpson murder case.

Mark was born in February 1952 in Eatonville, Washington. He went to Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor. His parents got divorced when he was just 7. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He was given the training of machine gunner and military policeman. After the discharge from the military army in 1975, he went to California and earned a name as a cadet at the Los Angeles Police Academy. In 1977 he got a stressful assignment in East Los Angeles on Latino street gangs. Since then, his career started to flourish.
Fuhrman was not very happy in his personal life, he married thrice, and all three of them ended in divorce. In 1977 he married Barbara L Koop but granted her divorce after four years.
