Dec 31, 2014 · 'Marquis' is a 1989 film, loosely based on the life and work of the notorious Marquis de Sade. The story is set in 18th-century France, with the plot happening both inside and out of the Bastille, by the time De Sade was encarcerated. However, it's no conventional adaptation.
In pre-French Revolution Bastille, the Marquis is held being unjustly accused of working to overthrow the king. While his talking penis, Colin, longs for action, Marquis himself only desires to write his deviant stories in peace.
