Confiscated by Gestapo
In 1943, Rabbit in a Snowstorm was owned by Esther Falb's family. That same year, members of the Gestapo confiscated the painting after they killed Falb's father and chased her family across Poland.

Many years later, the painting was possessed by Scene Contempo Gallery in New York City. Vanessa Marianna specifically referring to the painting as one of her favorite pieces. In the wake of Arrest of Wilson Fisk, the painting was confiscated by the federal government. Esther Falbwas informed about it and took painting back, stating herself as the only legitimate owner. Upon his release, Fisk learned about it and offered to purchase the painting off of Falb for a lot of money but she refused every single one of Fisk's offers.
