Ideal was an American R&B quartet from Houston, Texas, United States. The group debuted in 1999 and was composed of brothers Maverick "Mav" and Cedrick "Swab" Cotton, their cousin Wayne "PZ" Perry, and high school friend Jay "J-Dante" Green, [1] all graduates of Lamar High School in Houston.

Feb 14, 2021 · Cedrick Cotton, known as “Swab” from the popular 90s R&B group Ideal, was stabbed to death in southwest Houston last week. He was 46. Cotton’s mother, Delores Floyd, said he frequented the local Fondren Food Market where he was killed in broad daylight.
