Mayo Methot. Mayo Jane Methot (March 3, 1904 – June 9, 1951) was an American film and stage actress. She appeared in over 30 films, as well as in various Broadway productions, and attracted significant media attention for her tempestuous marriage to actor Humphrey Bogart .
In June 1951, Mayo Methot passed. At the time, the press reported that she’d passed during surgery, but the whole story was so much more tragic. In reality, the 47-year-old had drunk herself into an early grave, and the cause of her passing was "acute alcoholism."
