The Capitol tour service now offers smartphone tours! These quick, self-guided tours focus on speciality Capitol topics - such as historic furniture, portraits, and art - that can be found throughout the Capitol and its grounds. Click here or scan the QR code to take a tour.
Guided tours of the Capitol are provided Monday through Friday and begin at the top of every hour, with the first tour beginning at 9:00am and the final tour beginning at 4:00pm. Tours should be scheduled in advance for groups of between 10 and 45 people.

The west side of Capitol Square is home to a state-of-the-art geothermal system that provides clean, renewable heating and cooling for the Capitol. Comprised of nearly 300 wells, bored 500 feet deep, it uses the earth’s constant 54-degree temperate as a heat source in the winter and a heat sink in the summer.
