Oct 22, 2015 · Midway is a small town separated by a train track (was the first town established in KY by a railroad) The RJ Corman trains still pass through if you are a train buff. There are a few restaurants and shops. The area is quaint and clean. Our favorite spot was the Pharmacy/Soda Fountain shop.

Midway is a small city in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky in the northern section of Woodford County half way between the cities of Lexington and Frankfort. It is home to Midway University, historically a small women's college which became fully coeducational in 2016.

The Midway Historic District of Midway, Kentucky, was designated by the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district on November 17, 1978. In 2003, faced with a declining downtown, a major streetscape renovation project began as part of the Kentucky Main Street Program.
