Currently touring and recording with a number of musical projects, including experimental post-punk trio Il Sogno Del Marinaio, his past work includes punk band fIREHOSE, collaborations with Sonic Youth and Thurston Moore and joining The Stooges in 2003. But he first cut his teeth with seminal hardcore punk band Minutemen.
The band's songs continued to appear in compilations, videos and soundtracks; "Corona" was the theme music of MTV's Jackass. A compilation album featuring a selection of songs from the band's career, the Watt-compiled Introducing the Minutemen, was released in 1998. The Minutemen played their first show with Black Flag and the two bands would develop a close relationship. Tonche quit after the group's second show, disliking the punk audiences that the band played for, and Hurley opted to join the band (a collection of recordings with Tonche, called "Georgeless", was released on 7" vinyl in 1993).
