Moxy (band) Moxy is a Canadian rock band, formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1973. They toured Canada before having a hit in late 1975 with "Can't You See I'm A Star". Moxy then toured the United States on the strength of their radio airplay. Markets in which the band was very popular included Ontario, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, and San Antonio.

Jul 10, 2015 · Whereas the original Moxy were a nifty Canuck hybrid of Aerosmith and Free, the modern-day group just sounds like an overblown bar band. They sorely miss the gritty vocals of frontman Buzz Sherman, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1983. Current singer Nick Walsh is a hyperventilating Seb Bach-alike, which just won’t do at all.

Moxy Biography by John Bush. Buddy Caine, Buzz Shearman, Bill Wade, Earl Johnson, and Terry Juric founded Moxy in the mid-'70s. The hard rock band released four albums during the decade ( Moxy, Moxy II, Ridin' High, and Under the Lights ). After Shearman died in a motorcycle accident, the band recorded A Tribute to Buzz Shearman in 1984.
