Feb 10, 2007 · K2 was an epic movie, and is accompanied by an excellent soundtrack. Zimmer scored the UK version to the movie, and its an excellent soundtrack. Zimmer works well with the actors on the movies he scores. Michael Biehn was also in "The Rock" and Zimmer scored a fantastic theme for Biehn and was used as the films theme tune as well.

K2 was one of the earliest scores in which Zimmer explored the heavy action sythesizer sound that came to be dubbed "Zimmerian." This sound, more widely heard in Broken Arrow and Drop Zone, is usually accented with strident electric guitar played by Pete Haycock, which film music fans find either very passionate or very annoying.

Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite composers, his style is unmistakable and it shines in this piece of music! Changes between bombastic and subtle parts are great. I don't mind it is only split in two tracks. While both tracks have action and subtle parts, Ascent is more bombastic while Descent is more sad and melancholic.
