  3. Feb 10, 2007 · Both "Musical Shapes" and "Blue Nun" feature Carter in power pop mode, tinged with a hint of country, and showcase the musical genius of Lowe and Dave Edmunds. What a treat to find these albums, both long out of print, compiled on one CD.

  4. Feb 20, 2018 · C6H12O6 Senior Member. A different CD compilation titled The Best of Dave Edmunds (covering the Rockpile years) is actually my favorite - track listing could be better, but for a single LP-length collection, it's the most enjoyable simply for drawing from his best period, IMHO.

  5. Here its the influence of both Nick Lowe -- Carlene's one time husband -- as both producer and song writer, plus the musicianship of Dave Edmunds that help drive the whole thing along. Carlene's second album, 'Blue Nun', featured as the other part of this 28 track stack, is only just another bonus.
