Nancy and John Lasseter fell in love with wine together, and when they moved to the Sonoma Valley in 1993, they discovered the art of winemaking through vintner friends. In time, their passion evolved from appreciation to a full immersion in the winemaking process.

She has worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice since 1987. Nancy is a certified instructor of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program.

Lasseter lives in Glen Ellen, California with his wife Nancy, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, whom he met at a computer graphics conference in San Francisco in 1985. Nancy majored in computer graphics applications, and previously worked as a computer graphics engineer at Apple Computer.

Ms. Lasseter is an instructor of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program in the Gainesville community since 2004 and at UF Health since 2006. As a co-founder of the UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine (AIM) Contemplative Arts, Nancy brought the healing arts into the healthcare setting.
Karuna Cottage is a secluded, contemplative sanctuary in a cozy Gainesville neighborhood owned and managed by Nancy Lasseter and Ewen Thomson, who live on the property. This is a beautiful setting where experienced teachers offer retreats, classes, workshops, and meditation group sanghas.
