Naushad Ali (25 December 1919 – 5 May 2006) was an Indian composer for Hindi films. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest and foremost music directors of the Hindi film industry. He is particularly known for popularising the use of classical music in films.
Naushad was a pioneer of Indian music and one of the first and foremost composers in Bollywood. He composed for films like Baiju Bawra, Mughal-E-Azam and Mother India, and introduced Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi to the world.

- Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki (Dulari, 1949) This song marked the start of the evergreen musical duo — Naushad and Mohammed Rafi. The film was a box-office, hit but the song was, perhaps, even a bigger one.
