- Climb the Filbert Street Steps. Architectural Landmark. Your climb to the base of Coit Tower will most likely involve Filbert Street, which runs from the Presidio to Telegraph Hill, where it ends in steps flanked by flora.
Walked through North Beach on a recent visit to San Francisco, and found the architecture interesting and welcoming. Close to Little Italy, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf, this will be the next neighborhood we find a hotel to stay in and use as a base of operations. Lots of great restaurants in a 5 block radius. Worth exploring!
