Oliver Hardy (born January 18, 1892, Harlem, Georgia, U.S.—died August 7, 1957, North Hollywood, California) American comedic film actor best known as half of the Laurel and Hardy comedy duo. Teamed with Stan Laurel , Oliver Hardy made some 100 comedies—many of them classics—between 1921 and 1950.
