Omid Abtahi (Persian: امید ابطحی , born 12 July 1979) is an Iranian-American actor. He is best known for his roles as Salim in Starz Original American Gods, Doctor Pershing in The Mandalorian on Disney+, Saleem Ulman in NCIS on Paramount+, and Homes in the final installment of The Hunger Games film series, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

Omid Abtahi was born in Tehran, Iran. However, he moved with his family at an early age. After living in Europe and Southwest Asia, Abtahi grew up in Orange County, California. He graduated from University High School in Irvine, and later attended the Theater and Dance Department of California State University Fullerton. Abtahi began his acting career in theater, appearing in various plays. In 2003, he worked in the Casting Department on the film Independent Lens as a casting assistant. Two years later, he started his acting career with appearances in JAG, and Judging Amy, as well as a main cast role in the show Over There (with Sprague Grayden and Lombardo Boyar). Through his career, Abtahi has had recurring roles on TV shows such as Ghost Whisperer, Last Resort (with Gideon Emery), and Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa's Homeland (with Hrach Titizian, Navid Negahban, Maury Sterling and Diego Klattenhoff). Abtahi was born in Iran on July 12, 1979 and grew up in Orange County, California. He moved to the United States at an early age with his family after living in Europe and Southwest Asia. Abtahi graduated from University High School in Irvine and attended the California State University Fullerton in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Before acting on television, Abtahi performed on stage in many theatrical productions including Fraulein Else at the Berkeley Repertory, McCarter Theatre and Longwarf Theatre; Adoration of the Old Woman at the Sundance Theatre Lab and Your Everyday Typical Romantic Comedy at the Kennedy Centre. He has also guest starred on the television series JAG, Judging Amy and 24. He played Justin Yates in Ghost Whisperer. Abtahi also filmed the movie Running with Scissors, which he co-starred along with Annette Bening and Gwyneth Paltrow. The film was released in 2006.Since arriving in Los Angeles, Omid has been a series regular on FX's Over There and Showtime's Sleeper Cell.While preparing for the role of Pvt. Tariq Nassiri on the television series Over There, Abtahi learned how to speak Arabic and studied Middle Eastern culture.Abtahi made his New York stage debut in Urge for Going by Mona Mansour.Abtahi is also the voice of Farid in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Omid Abtahi was born in Tehran, Iran on 12th July 1979. He spent his earliest childhood in Iran before his family moved to Paris, following their migration to the United States. More to his family is his sister, whose identity remains a mystery like his parents. Omid's family moved to Irvine, Orange County, California, and settled there, when he was ten years of age. Now, Omid holds American-Iranian nationality while embracing Iranian ethnicity. Regarding his educational factor, he graduated from University High School in Irvine. Furthermore, he began his college at California State Fullerton, studying advertising. But, later, he realized he wanted to do something with his life and changed his subject choice to an extracurricular acting class.
