The British team have been without a CTO since Paddy Lowe left the operation in 2019 – and are currently without a Technical Director as well following FX Demaison’s departure at the end of last year.

After attempting several engineering courses, he apprenticed at Thorn EMI in 1981. During his time at Thorn EMI, he went to the City of London Polytechnic during the day to take a course in electronics.
