Patrick Galen Dempsey (born January 13, 1966) [1] is an American actor and racing driver. He is best known for his role as neurosurgeon Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd in the ABC medical drama series Grey's Anatomy from 2005 to 2015. He is also known for his leading man romantic films roles, including in Enchanted (2007).
Patrick Dempsey is well-known for his portrayal of Dr. Derek Shepherd on the hit ABC series, GREY'S ANATOMY. His performance earned him a 2007 Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated in 2006 and 2007 for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama.

- Can't Buy Me Love (1987) One of Dempsey's earliest breakout roles came in this sweet teen comedy. The actor plays Ronald, a nerd with a heart of gold, who pays a cheerleader (Amanda Peterson) to pretend to date him to boost his social status.
