Paul West spent his entire career specializing in writing family comedies for radio and television. He started out penning material for one of the first daily serials, Sally of the Star at CBS Radio's Hollywood headquarters in 1935; while there, he also wrote for other shows, including scripts for W.C. Fields' Lux Theater of the Air.
