Planes is a 2013 theatrical spin-off of the 2006 Disney/Pixar animated film, Cars and its two sequels, Cars 2 (2011) and Cars 3 (2017), and the first film in the Planes duology. Pixar Animation Studios, the production team of the Cars movies, however, did not produce the film.
