Catherine Bush CBE (born 30 July 1958) is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and dancer. In 1978, at the age of 19, she topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks with her debut single "Wuthering Heights", becoming the first female artist to achieve a UK number one with a solely self-written song.
Known for her trademark 4-octave soprano voice and eclectic musical style, Bush has enjoyed celebrity status for the past thirty-five years of her career. She began her music career at the tender age of sixteen after she signed a contract with the EMI record label.
