"Dead Tooth" is the second episode of season one of Raising Hope and the show's second episode overall. It originally aired on September 28, 2010 on Fox.
When Jimmy returns to work, he hires Sabrina's cousin Shelley - a.k.a. "Dead Tooth" - to babysit Hope.
Meanwhile, Burt tries to get Virginia to quit smoking.
Mike has left the house to join a cult, so Burt needs Jimmy to work with him again. Jimmy doesn't know what to do with Hope while he's at work, so he decides to just bring her with him.
Burt tries to get Maw Maw and Virginia to quit smoking, but Maw Maw doesn't want to quit and Virginia tells him she will only quit if he can get Maw Maw to quit first.
After a client calls the police on him for carrying Hope and cutting grass at the same time, Jimmy decides he needs to find a babysitter.
Later, Virginia meets Sabrina, who suggests Jimmy take Hope to her cousin Shelley's day care, but Jimmy is reluctant to do so because he and Shelley made out at a party two years ago and he never called her back.
Burt is unsuccessful in trying to get Maw Maw to quit smoking, so he builds a "bubble" of plastic wrap around her to keep the smoke out of the house. Unfortunately, this doesn't work either.
Shelley is still attracted to Jimmy; the feelings are not mutual, but he finds himself reluctant to break things off with her because she's been watching Hope for free and Hope really likes her.
