Reichenbach Falls are the falls where Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous hero, Sherlock Holmes died. Apart from that, it is undoubtedly one the most beautiful locations in the region. Even the walk from Meiringen train station to the base station of the falls is full of scenic beauty with a distinct and amazingly beautiful view on every turn.
A secured footpath leads through the narrow ravine, which is enclosed by up to 80 meter high rockfaces. The meltwaters flow onwards to the valley and turn into the Reichenbach brook. The brook's seven-tiered waterfall has become world-famous, thanks to the writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
