Oct 18, 2022 · SPOILER ALERT: Masur’s character in “The Thing” doesn’t make it in the end. In fact, he is shot in the head by R.J. MacReady (Kurt Russell), who believes Clark (Masur) is “The Thing.” Turns out, MacReady is wrong. But, Masur said he has no hard feelings toward the former Disney star-turned-A-list leading man.
