Richard Joseph Riordan (born May 1, 1930) is an American investment banker, businessman, lawyer, Korean War veteran, and former Republican politician. Riordan was the 39th Mayor of Los Angeles . Elected in 1993 and re-elected in 1997 , he served until 2001, when he was term limited.
