The municipality was part of the Vevey District until it was dissolved on 31 August 2006, and Chardonne became part of the new district of Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut. [5] The municipality is located between Lake Geneva and Mont Pèlerin .

Vevey (French pronunciation: ⓘ; Arpitan: Vevê; former German: Vivis) is a town in Switzerland in the canton of Vaud, on the north shore of Lake Leman, near Lausanne. The German name Vivis is no longer commonly used. It was the seat of the district of the same name until 2006, and is now part of the Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut District.
