Toxi is a 1952 West German drama film directed by Robert A. Stemmle and starring Elfie Fiegert, Paul Bildt and Johanna Hofer. The film's release came as the first wave of children born to black Allied servicemen and white German mothers entered school. It was shot at the Wandsbek Studios in Hamburg.

Robert A. Stemmle was born on 10 June 1903 in Magdeburg, Germany. He was a writer and director, known for The Ballad of Berlin (1948), Sündige Grenze (1951) and Die unvollkommene Ehe (1959). He was married to Gerda Maurus and Annelise Lippert. He died on 24 February 1974 in Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany.

Toxi: Directed by Robert A. Stemmle. With Elfie Fiegert, Paul Bildt, Johanna Hofer, Ingeborg Körner. Toxi, an Afro-German girl, is left at the doorstep of the Rose family assembled for a birthday party. When they find a suitcase with Toxi, they realize that she has been abandoned.

Known for his unique blend of social realism and melodrama, Robert A. Stemmle – one of in West Germany's most popular directors – brought together an exceptionally renowned group of classic German actors with very diverse experiences of the Nazi era, including Paul Bildt, Johanna Hofer and Elisabeth Flickenschildt.
Stemmle became one of the most successful and prolific West German directors and writers in the late 1940s and 50s. One of his most successful films was Berliner Ballade, a satirical postwar story told from the vantage point of the year 2048. As of the mid-1960s, Stemmle worked mainly in television.
