Robert McKinnon Califf (born 1951) is an American cardiologist who currently serves as the 25th Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. He was first nominated to be commissioner in September 2015 by President Barack Obama  and he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in February 2016,  serving until January 20, 2017.
