Following a period of grieving and uncertainty, the band decided to continue, recruiting guitarist Roisin Dunne as Sargent's replacement later that year. In July 1993, Gits' frontwoman and long-time friend of the band Mia Zapata was raped and murdered while walking home late at night.

Ross played on the 7 Year Bitch albums ¡Viva Zapata! and Gato Negro with Atlantic Records. She eventually left the band to pursue other opportunities.
