Manuel Blanco Romasanta was born on 18 November 1809 in Regueiro, Esgos, Ourense province, one of five children born to Miguel Blanco and María Romasanta. Romasanta is thoroughly insane. Believing himself to be a werewolf, some of his assaults superficially appear to be wolf attacks. The authorities even go so far as to place a bounty on wolves even though they know the culprit is all-too-human. A break in the case comes in the form of young Barbára Garcia (Pataky).
