Ronald Zehrfeld wuchs in Berlin-Schöneweide auf. Sein Vater, ein Ingenieur, und seine Mutter, eine Betriebswirtschaftlerin, arbeiteten beide für die staatliche DDR-Fluggesellschaft Interflug.
