Room is a 2015 independent drama film directed by Lenny Abrahamson and written by Emma Donoghue, based on her 2010 novel of the same name. It stars Brie Larson as a woman who has been held captive for seven years and whose 5-year-old son ( Jacob Tremblay ) was born in captivity.
In a building, a room is any space enclosed within a number of walls to which entry is possible only by a door or other dividing structure that connects it either to a passageway, to another room, or to the outdoors, that is large enough for several persons to move about, and whose size, fixtures, furnishings, and sometimes placement within the building support the activity to be conducted in it.
Room is a powerful imagining of an extraordinary situation, but it's also a poignant evocation of the ordinary, everyday intensity and complexity of the bond between mother and child.
