Dec 24, 1994 · Producer. Rossano Brazzi (18 September 1916 – 24 December 1994) was an Italian actor. Brazzi was born in Bologna to Adelmo and Maria (née Ghedini) Brazzi. He attended San Marco University in Florence, Italy, where he was raised from the age of four. He made his film debut in 1939.

Rossano Brazzi is best remembered by American audiences for his starring role opposite Mary Martin in the 1958 film version ofRodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific. He had, however, established a Hollywood career before he played French planter Emile De Becque to Martin's NurseNellie Forbush.

Rossano Brazzi was an Italian actor. He moved to Hollywood in 1948 and was propelled to international fame with his role in the English-language film Three Coins in the Fountain (1954), followed by the leading male role in David Lean's Summertime (1955), opposite Katharine Hepburn.
