Samantha Elizabeth Brown was born on March 31, 1970, in Dallas, Texas. Her parents are Christopher D. Brown, owner of the Conproco Corporation, and Elsie Mae Brown, an administrative assistant at Albright College. Her family moved to New Hampshire when she was still a child. Samantha attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire. Samantha recalls from her childhood: “When I was a little girl my mom would tell me the story of how I was a bear cub she found in the woods. I would sometimes search our backyard in New Hampshire looking for my bear mom and dad, worried that they were missing me. If I wasn't getting along with my sisters or parents I was certain it was because I was a bear and they were not.” During her high school years at the Pinkerton Academy, she was passionate about the performing arts and participated in Music and Drama. Samantha Brown’s husband, Kevin James O’ Leary, is a specialist in computer servers and works as the manager of technology for Insight Enterprises. The couple got married in 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay by the Reverend David R. Henry. They are the proud parents of two beautiful twin children, Ellis James and Elizabeth Mae, both born in 2013.
Before Samantha began her career as a travel hostess, her career took off by doing several jobs related to advertising. Initially, she worked as the spokesperson for the company Century Cable under the character of “Wendy Wire”. Also, she was the Super Mom in the HP Pavilion commercial called “Computer is personal again”. Other jobs included being a spokesperson of brands such as ECCO Shoes, Cedar Point Amusement Park, and a performer of the comedy sketch group “Mouth”, with whom she worked for ten full years. In 1999, by recommendation of a producer that spotted her in a commercial, she auditioned for the show “Great Vacation Homes”, which was going to be aired on The Travel Channel. The idea of the show was to introduce the audience to different vacation destinations and hotels across the US and the rest of the world. Her dream job almost didn’t happen due to problems with her flight connections but things worked out in the end.
