Santa Monica Bay is a bight of the Pacific Ocean in California, United States. It is home to many beaches including Santa Monica state beach and Malibu lagoon state beach. We visited Santa Monica state beach section of the bay. It has nice sandy beaches along the Pacific ocean.
This nearly continuous sandy shoreline spans the gap between the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the Eastern Malibu Coast below the Santa Monica Mountains. These beaches are in several different cities including Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey , El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, and of course Los Angeles.

Bay Street, just south of Hotel Casa del Mar, is a popular surf spot. Rentals and lessons adjacent to the beach offer beginners an introduction to Southern California surfing. Pump it. Located on the south side of the Santa Monica Pier, Original Muscle Beach was established in the early 1930s.
