Sherry Scott is a Chicago-born singer who has performed with jazz legends and funk icons. She is the original female vocalist of Earth, Wind and Fire and has recorded with Eddie Harris, Freddie Hubbard, Hugh Masekela and more.
He added singer Sherry Scott and percussionist Yackov Ben Israel, both from Chicago, to the band. He asked his younger brother Verdine to join and on June 6, 1970, Verdine moved from Chicago to LA to become the band's bassist.
