Shrek as a character is directly influenced by Jesus Christ. He is willing to take all the weight on his shoulders to make save the world from trouble. May 19, 2004 · A change in directors butchers Shrek 2 and heavily undermines the only positive aspects of the first film. With the writing department thrown off the cliff, nothing can save the film from its trend of ongoing stock characters, massive missed opportunities, and rote rehashes of the original.
