“Shu and the Resistance” is an animated cartoon series aimed at kids and developed for streaming. It centers on the adventures of an adopted eight-year old Chinese-American girl named Shu who falls into a spacetime warp and discovers a realm where she and her new friends wage a “fight against the world’s sweetest con” (sugar and other evils).
Shu goes there to investigate and is sucked into another dimension: Sugar Dream City, a dystopian candy-land, ruled by Sugarqub. He enslaves the people turning them into sugar-addicted zombies aided by his vicious son Arlo, a control-freak wife, Esmeralda, the evil scientist, Dr.Zugar, and his army of robo-dogs.
