Erlingsson (1156–1184). Sigurd Ribbung var en norsk opprørskonge. Han var sønn av baglerkongen Erling Steinvegg og kongsemne for opprørsflokken ribbungene. Ribbungene ble dannet i 1219, under ledelse av Gudolv av Blakstad. Dette var grupperinger som blant annet hadde sitt utspring i baglerflokken, som tidligere hadde støttet Sigurds far, Erling.

As a king of the Birkebeiner faction, Haakon defeated the uprising of the final Bagler royal pretender, Sigurd Ribbung, in 1227. He put a definitive end to the civil war era when he had Skule Bårdsson killed in 1240, a year after he had himself proclaimed king in opposition to Haakon.
