  5. On October 14, 2018, John Kay and Steppenwolf performed their last show in Baxter Springs, Kansas. After 50 years of recording and performing, it was time for the band to retire. John is now playing periodically as solo act, performing the blues and folk music that influenced him to get started in the first place.
