Sir Percy Florence Shelley, 3rd Baronet, JP, DL (12 November 1819 – 5 December 1889), was the son of the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and his second wife, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, novelist and author of Frankenstein. He was the only child of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley to live beyond infancy.

Percy Bysshe’s father Sir Timothy Shelley provided his grandson Percy an annual income whilst he attended school before he inherited the estate and title in 1844 when Sir Timothy died.

The Abinger papers are the residue of the collection of Shelley family papers from Boscombe Manor (near Bournemouth, Dorset), the home of Sir Percy Florence Shelley, 3rd Baronet of Castle Goring (1819-1889), and his wife Jane, Lady Shelley (1820-1899).
Upon the death of Sir Timothy, Percy Florence Shelley became the third Baronet. He died childless and the title passed to his first cousin, Edward Shelley, who then became the fourth Baronet. [1] Sir Bysshe Shelley had one son from his second marriage, John Shelley. His name was changed to Shelley-Sidney in 1795.
