  2. 8/10. A film of more depth and power than nearly all of its recent peers. SteveSkafte 8 October 2010. As far as children's fantasy films go, "Skellig" is excellent. One of the best ever, in fact. Unlike a lot of other such adaptations to come out in the past few years, this film is never overwhelmed by special effects or action sequences.

  4. Aug 17, 2010 · First, the "Owl Man" had a propensity for drinking alcohol which I thought was inappropriate for (what I thought was) a movie for kids. Second, I suppose for realism, he did owl-like things such as eat rodents brought to him by another owl and roll his eyes back into his head. Finally, the "Owl Man" was too weird and scary for the 7 year old.
