It's a Christmas miracle! Thin one from the romance department, but it was still a very likable Esther Williams musical with plenty of adorable bits. Brings a little of everything wholesome. This is definitely a “girls” film and Vivian Blane and Joan Evans make good counterparts for Esther Williams because of their differing personalities.

Dec 3, 2011 · Skirts Ahoy! is not one of the best of Williams' films, but it is entertaining and has a fun cast, most especially Vivian Blaine. Billy Eckstine is terrific but his spot in the film seems forced. It is totally unrelated to an already thin plot line. The addition of a tribute to women in the Navy is a plus.
