Alexander Sloan Nibley (June 23, 1908 – April 3, 1990) was an American screenwriter. He was the older brother of famed Latter Day Saint scholar Hugh Nibley.

Thereafter, Nibley continued to specialize in Westerns until his own retirement in 1956; one of his more famous credits was the 1952 Gary Cooper starrer Springfield Rifle. Sloan Nibley was the father of cinematographer Christian Sloan Nibley.
