In Manhattan, columnist Lou Friedlander (Paul Sorvino) experiences love at first sight when he sets his eyes upon a new tenant in his apartment building: Sarah Gantz (Anne Ditchburn), a ballerina who has recently broken up with her boyfriend. However, Sarah soon discovers that she has a terminal illness and should give up dancing for her health.
